Timbers Restaurant at Sugarbush Resort Joins 1% For The Planet

From our friends at Sugarbush Resort:

Timbers Restaurant, Sugarbush Resort’s signature restaurant, recently joined 1% For The Planet, the global collection of businesses pledging one-percent of revenues to environmental causes.

“We’re absolutely delighted that our neighbor Sugarbush has joined 1% for the Planet through their flagship restaurant, Timbers,” says Terry Kellogg, CEO of 1% For The Planet. “They’re investing in the future of their business by supporting brand-aligned Vermont nonprofits. With Jackson Hole in the West and Sugarbush Resort in the East, we hope they will inspire other businesses who depend on the environment to make a similar commitment and join 1% for the Planet.”

Sugarbush Resort has made significant investments contributing to the health of the local environment. In addition, many sustainable practices have been initiated around the resort.

“Given that our business operates in the heart of the Green Mountain National Forest, Sugarbush Resort has a special responsibility to help preserve and protect our ecosystem and minimize the environmental impacts of doing business,” said Win Smith, President of Sugarbush Resort. “Our efforts have included the use of biodiesel, waste diversion programs, composting initiatives and long-term water quality restoration projects, which have been lauded by the EPA as a ‘success story.’ Sugarbush’s 1% For the Planet membership is a further step towards committing more resources to environmental causes outside of our company, and we are looking forward to our partnership with 1% and seeing the impacts of these additional investments.”
