Vt. Biathlete Susan Dunklee Has Career Best Race!

From our friends at Craftsbury Outdoor Center:
Barton, Vermont biathlete Susan Dunklee has just posted the best result of her young career (5th) at the IBU World Championships at Ruhpolding, Germany in the 15K Women’s Individual. Susan’s shooting results have begun to mirror her ski speed, as she only missed one shot all day, in the second prone stage for a one minute penalty. She ended the day 1:18 back to the winner, Tora Berger of Norway, and was only seven seconds from the podium.

Two events remain in the Championships: a relay and the mass start, on Saturday and Sunday respectively. Given this result, Susan has every reason to be excited – and Vermont has another International caliber winter athlete representing the Green Mountain state!

We’ll be posting more information on our website, but I wanted to share this post haste. Susan will be competing in state this month along with her Green Racing Project teammates, most of the US Ski team and US Biathlon team at the SuperTour Finals and XC long distance National Championships we’ll be hosting March 24-31. Be sure to come follow the action live all that week!
