THIRD DAY OF JUNIOR NATIONAL CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS YIELDS 5K, 10K, AND 15K FREESTYLE WINNERS

The third day of racing at the USSA Junior National Championships featured Freestyle races for both male and female athletes. Winners in the six categories were:

Female Under 16 (5k) Hailey Swirbul Team Rocky Mountain (Aspen Valley)
Female Under 18 (10k) Katherine Ogden Team New England (Stratton Mountain)
Female Under 20 (15k) Maggie Williams Team Intermountain (Sun Valley SEF)

Male Under 16 (5k) Hunter Wonders Team Alaska (APU)
Male Under 18 (10k) Gavin McEwen Team New England (Cambridge Sports Union)
Male Under 20 (15k) Fabian Stocek Team New England (Holderness School)

Medals were presented by Algis Shaina, 1984 Olympic Biathlon Gold Medalist for Lithuania and three time U.S. Olympic Biathlon Team Coach, Larry Damon, four time American Olympian and longtime Trapp Family Lodge ski instructor, and Cami Thompson Graves, Dartmouth Women’s Cross Country team Head Coach.
