“Fish”lanthropy for Fives Event Raises over $8,000 for High Fives Foundation

Stowe, Vt. — On Oct. 25, the High Fives Foundation hosted the first ever Fishlanthropy for Fives at Sushi Yoshi in Stowe. The event was hosted in conjunction with The Alchemist Brewery, iShareworks and VT North Ski Shop. The event featured a number of area celebrities serving guests with delectable Asian fusion. Jon and Jen Kimmich, founders of the Alchemist Brewery, were behind the bar serving special cans of their “Crusher” double IPA.

Sushi Yoshi donated 25 percent of all food sales and all tips to the servers went to High Fives, helping to raise more than $8,000 toward the Foundation’s mission — to raise money and awareness for athletes who suffer from life-altering injuries while pursuing their dreams in the winter action-sports community.

During the event the High Fives Foundation aired their terrain park safety documentary called ‘KnowYourPark.” The film is the 4th installment of the Foundation’s B.A.S.I.C.S. program (Being Aware, Safe In Critical Situations). B.A.S.I.C.S. is a service of the High Fives Foundation designed to promote safety and awareness through coaching fundamentals of action sports athletes and through videos that help promote critical thinking to winter sports enthusiasts of all ages.
