Mount Snow Announces Dates for Tough Mudder New England 2015

Mount Snow, Vt. – Mount Snow Resort is pleased to announce it has finalized an agreement with global endurance event leader, Tough Mudder, to return to the southern Vermont mountain resort for the fifth straight year with 2015’s event scheduled for June 5 and 6.  This is good news for the resort as well as the surrounding community since the event traditionally draws thousands of people from near and far who, while there to participate or spectate, also enjoy the area’s many lodging properties, restaurants and shops.

Tough Mudder New England, as this stop is known, has consistently received some of the highest reviews of any venue out of over 70 that currently take place around the world.  Mount Snow’s varied terrain, close proximity to major metro areas, base area facilities and experience hosting large-scale events were all components in Tough Mudder’s desire to return.

In addition, the local community greets the thousands of Tough Mudders with enthusiasm and support every time the event is in town, as evidenced by many local businesses donning the trademark orange and black pennant banners and huge welcome signs.

“While the actual event occurs here at the resort, the entire Mount Snow Valley has played a pivotal role in the success and longevity of Tough Mudder New England,” said Tim Dolan, Mount Snow’s events manager.  “Our goal is not only to put on a great event, but also to show this huge influx of visitors how special a place this is.”

Tough Mudder is known as “Probably the toughest event on the planet”, and with good reason, especially when the course winds its way through the varied and steep terrain of a major mountain resort like Mount Snow.  Participants must navigate numerous obstacles throughout the ten-mile course that feature mud, ice cold water, barbed wire, electric shocks and other challenges.

This will be the sixth Tough Mudder New England Mount Snow has hosted, with the first event occurring in May of 2011 and the resort was home to two events during the summer of 2012.  Mount Snow maintains one of the longest standing relationships with Tough Mudder of any venue on their global schedule.
