Lake Dunmore Triathlon Selected as 2011 & 2012 USA Triathlon Special Qualifier

The Lake Dunmore Triathlon has been selected as the Northeast region’s Special Qualifier for the 2011 and 2012 USA Triathlon Age Group National Championship events.
The top third finishers in each five-year age group will qualify to compete at the age group nationals to be held in Burlington on August 20.
“We are very proud to have been selected for this distinction”, said race director Jerrod Rushton. “With so many professionally organized races in the Northeast, it is a terrific honor to be have been chosen and have the opportunity to give our local and regional athletes a real shot at qualifying for the national championship event.”
Nestled in the Green Mountains, the Vermont Sun Triathlon Series is one of the oldest and well respected in the country. The 2011 schedule consists of two sprint distance and two Olympic distance triathlons. The events are held at scenic Branbury State Park. The venue is widely recognized as an ideal setting for triathlon and athletes of all ages and abilities enjoy and appreciate the safe and well-supported courses.
