|A 5.7 mile loop course on mostly dirt roads which climbs 450 ft in the first three miles and then gradually descends to the finish.|
Directly east of Northfield Vermont, lies a hidden gem of rolling single track, winding forest roads, and abandoned ski slopes on the flanks of Paine Mountain. With steep climbs and descents and incredible views, this series of forested trails make for some of the best trail running in Central VT!
All races start and finish at Norwich University’s Shaw Outdoor Center, and the courses take advantage of both the Shaw Center’s extensive mountain bike network and the Northfield Town Forest.
Smugglers’ Mountain Race is a weekend of stout mountain runs at their finest. These are extremely challenging sky-run style mountain races located on the rugged slopes and trails of Smugglers’ Notch Resort, in Mount Mansfield State Forest!
Both races climb to the highest point of land; Madonna Mountain, on the North side of Smugglers’ Notch via steep, unforgiving terrain. Loose rock, mud, slippery slopes and long unrelenting climbs with spectacular views should be expected.
Join us on August 18th for the inaugural running of the Woodchuck Cider Chase 5k in idyllic Middlebury, Vermont. Nestled in the cool Champlain Valley, dash from barn to farmhouse and back on Exchange Street. 5k, chip timed race starts and ends out front of the world famous Cider House. After the race, the party continues with live music, food trucks, yard games and family friendly fun for everyone.
|Rugged, remote, beautiful – these are the trails in Groton State Forest. Join us for the second year of this trail event, aimed at bringing you back to the forest and providing you with an unrivaled running experience. Runners can choose from either a 26.5 mile course or a 15.2 mile course that are both technical, challenging and gorgeous.|
The TAM Trek is a trail race and fun run to raise funds for the Trail Around Middlebury (TAM). The Middlebury Area Land Trust started building the TAM in 1989 and it now encircles the village of Middlebury, traveling through Cornwall, Weybridge, and New Haven. It links several hundred acres of town land, MALT conserved properties, schools, and other local landmarks.
Wright Park will be open throughout the event and all participants are encouraged to stay after the run to enjoy refreshments, music, and beverages. Generous prizes from local sponsors will be awarded to the male and female overall winners of the 19-mile and 10K races.
There will be 5 aid stations around the 19-mile course, and the 10K course will go by the Belden Falls aid station twice.
All proceeds from the Annual TAM Trek directly support the maintenance of the TAM. Your entry helps ensure this local gem remains well-maintained and available for public use year-round.
