The Stowe Derby is one of the oldest and most unique ski races in North America. It started in 1945 as a personal challenge between two skiers to race from the top of Mt. Mansfield to the village of Stowe on a single pair of skis. Today the race attracts more than 900 skiers. The course is about 20K and descends Mt. Mansfield’s Toll Road to the Stowe Recreation Path. There is also a kids race and a fatbike division.
