52nd GMAA Champlain Islands Marathon and Half-Marathon
South Hero, VT
A slightly different name for the Green Mountain Marathon and half-marathon, the Champlain Islands Marathon and half-marathon is Vermont's fall marathon. The half-marathon course is out and back on the west shore of South Hero, a land of farms, apple orchards, summer cottages, and plenty of fall foliage. The full marathon is two tours of the out-and-back of the half-marathon course. The terrain is flat to rolling, and all paved. The marathon is a Boston Qualifier.
