UVM Takes 2nd at Collegiate MTB Nationals

The University of Vermont Mountain Bike Team showed the rest of the country what a club team can do this past weekend. Racing in snow and mud in Snowshoe, West Virginia, the Catamounts finished second overall among Div. 1 club teams in the Omnium (overall) and second in the Team Relay.

Hazel Brewster, of Morrisville, also finsihed third overall among women in the Omnium after scoring consistent top five finishes in nearly all the disciplines. ¬†Brooks Curran rode solidly and scored enough points to earn 7th in the men’s Omnium while Nicholas Landon placed second in the Cross Country and fourth in the Short Track Cross Country. Lisa Chamberland took fourth in the Downhill.

Waitsfield’s Simona Cracola, riding for Lees-McCrae turned in a strong 5th among Varsity women.
