Sugarbush Resort Breaks Ground on New Slopeside Residences

From our friends at Sugarbush Resort:

Sugarbush Resort recently broke ground on the Rice Brook Residences, a collection of new slopeside townhomes and condominiums at the base of Lincoln Peak.

The Rice Brook Residences are six new townhomes and nine condominiums in three buildings. Part of a larger master plan, the Rice Brook Residences mark the first stage of new development at Sugarbush to be built in phases over the coming years.

Sugarbush has retained The Design Group of Warren, VT for architectural and master planning services with Engelberth Construction, Inc. of Colchester, VT selected as the general contractor.

“The new residences mark an important step for our long-term vision for Sugarbush” said Win Smith, President of Sugarbush Resort. “With the addition of these slopeside homes we are building a vibrant village at the base of Lincoln Peak that builds on the Sugarbush experience, reflects the character of our great community and benefits the Valley as a whole.”

Important features of the new development will be creating connectivity between the new Lincoln Peak Village, the existing base area and historic Sugarbush Village in all seasons and to fit architecturally with Clay Brook and the three new base lodges, The Gate House Lodge, The Farmhouse and The Schoolhouse. Ski access in and out of Sugarbush Village will be maintained, pedestrian connectivity will be greatly improved and parking spaces created for Sugarbush Village businesses as part of the development plan

With construction now under way Sugarbush intends to have the new residences ready for occupancy in the Fall of 2013.

Sugarbush Resort is a four-season mountain resort overlooking the Mad River Valley of Vermont.  Home to some of New England’s best skiing Sugarbush offers golf, tennis, a full service health and fitness center and numerous dining options.
