Millstone Mountain Bike Race Series

This summer, Onion River Sports, in partnership with Millstone Hill, will host a weekly race series on Thursday nights at 6:00 pm, starting June 20th and going through August 8th. Registration opens at 5:00pm and the racing kicks off at 6:00pm.
Racers of all ages and abilities are welcome to come compete on the multi-loop course that winds through Millstone’s unique trail system comprised of roots, rocks, flowy singletrack and abandoned granite quarries.
Racers will have the option to do 1, 2, 3 or 4 laps, and there will be a kids loop as well. The race will use the same course each week so riders can track their progress over the course of the summer.
Overall series winners will receive schwag and ORS gift certificates based on placement and attendance points.

Catamount Trail Run Series

Join us for the largest weekly trail running series in the country! This fun event is for all ages and abilities with a 5 km race, a NEW 10 km option on the second Tuesday of each month (6/11, 7/9, 8/13, 9/10), a 2.5 km “Cadets” race, and a short little “Cubs” race held every week from May 21 – September 17, 2013. We rotate between 3 different courses each week and give out prizes based on attendance at the end of the season awards pot luck party held on September 24th at 6:00 pm. You can join in the fun a couple of ways. By purchasing a membership that includes summer long trail use and the entire series, you get a number that is good for all 18 weeks of racing so you will never have to wait in line and can just show up at the start. You may also come and pay each week at the rates below

The Stowe Bike Club Time Trials take place in various locations throughout Lamoille and Washington counties. Time Trials vary in length from 8-12 miles. All cyclists are welcome. Train for a summer of riding, the Onion River Century Ride (or the Century of your choice) with us. Training rides will be on local, paved roads and are designed to build confidence, strength, endurance, road-riding skills and a sense of community. Suitable for riders new to riding on the road or in a group, as well as advanced cyclists interested in a relaxed group road ride. No-drop policy, no charge and led by Linda Freeman and an ORS staff rider. Regular participation suggested, but drop-ins are welcome until 7/2/13. Come prepared with your own bike, helmet, appropriate clothing, water bottle and a smile! If you’re unsure of your bike or helmet’s fit, stop by Onion River Sports before the ride and we’ll check it out!

Hard’ack Weekly Trail Runs

Join us for St. Albans Recreation’s weekly trail running series at Hard’ack Recreation Area. A fun weekly event in it’s 3rd year. Open to all ages and abilities. There is a 5K open race, a 3K Beginner and Junior Distance (walkers welcome) and a 1K kids run.
Every Tuesday beginning June 4th thru August 27th 2013. The run will rotate between 2 great courses.

Plan to join us for another great St. Albans Recreation Department tradition.
•The Green and Gold Loop will be primarily on Hard’ack’s wider Nordic trails with sweeping banked turns and rolling terrain. The 5K tackles Coach Mashtare’s favorite climb up “Ridge Trail”.
The Red Loop
•The Red Loop takes advantage of Hard’ack’s fun narrow and winding single track trails connected by sections fo the Nordic trails for a trule trail running experience.

•No Charge for the kids 1K Run
•$3 per night for residents, $5 per night for non residents
