Q Burke Mountain Bike Park voted top-five regional best bike park of 2014

EAST BURKE, Vt. – MTBparks.com, a comprehensive online guide to North American bike parks, announced the results of its second annual “Best Bike Parks Riders’ Choice Awards” survey. The rider-voted awards crown the top lift-served mountain-bike parks in eight separate regions across North America: Western Canada, Eastern Canada, Northeast, Mid-Atlantic/Southeast, Midwest, Southwest, Northwest and the Rocky Mountains.

More than 3,000 riders participated in the online survey that consisted of ratings in more than 20 categories covering a variety of aspects from “Best Base Area Amenities” to “Best Technical Trails,” but in the end it was the question, “What is your favorite bike park?” upon which the “Riders’ Choice Awards” were determined.

Q Burke Mountain Bike Park was voted third beating out Whiteface, N.Y. and Mount Snow, Vt. Highland Park in N.H. was voted number one, with Plattekill, N.Y. coming in a close second.

“Mountain Biking is a part of the culture here in the Northeast Kingdom and our little community embraces thousands of weekend visitors throughout the summer”, says Marketing Manager Jessica Sechler at Q Burke. “Our bike park provides a variety of options for any level of rider with lift and shuttle access to single track and machine excavated downhill and cross-country bike trails.”

Having officially launched MTBparks.com in 2012 as a one-stop resource for riders, founder Michelle Good saw the opportunity for the survey as a chance to put the spotlight on bike parks that were excelling.

“There is so much potential for resorts to help grow mountain biking as a sport and as an industry because of what they are able to offer in terms of variety of terrain, accessibility, progression and rider experience,” says Good, whose background includes time in the ski industry.”As resorts continue to embrace the growth of mountain biking during the summer months, the survey provides valuable feedback to resort decision makers and trail crews about what’s working and what isn’t as well as providing a useful guide for mountain bikers to plan summer getaways.”

The Q Burke Mountain Bike Park is slated to open May 22 , conditions permitting with our Bike Park Season Kickoff Party planned for Saturday, June 6 . “With so much excitement and motivation to get out there and enjoy the terrain within the biking community, our visitors will be happy to learn that when they visit the Burke area, they now have the option to stay in our first slope side, full service Hotel scheduled to open this December,” said Sechler.

The Q Burke Mountain Bike Park is free to ride Monday through Thursday with no lift access and at your own risk. Hours of operation will include Fridays, 3 p.m.-7 p.m.; Saturday & Sundays 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
