Online registration opens for North American Marathon Speedskating Championships
Wintertime anticipation is mounting on the shores of Lake Memphremagog in Newport, Vt. Folks are getting the wood in and beginning the snow and ice watch. Bets are down on the date of the first real snowfall in “The Valley” and the moment when the first trucks hit the ice. Kingdom games is gathering the team to clear and maintain a 700 meter speedskating oval out by The EastSide Restaurant. They’re also organizing a two-day Pond Hockey Tournament and looking north in the hopes that conditions will allow a 25 mile, international skating trail between Newport, Vermont and Magog, Quebec.
