Onion River Sports presents their favorite autumn mountain bike race, the 6th Annual Maple Onion at the Morse Farm in Montpelier, Sunday, August 24, beginning at 10:00am. The course, designed and maintained by MAMBA (Montpelier Area Mountain Bike Association), is the challenging Tour de Farm loop, which winds its way through the Nordic ski trails, sugar maple groves, and open fields of scenic Morse Farm Maple Sugar Farm on the County Road in Montpelier.
There will be races for all ages and abilities. We’ll kick off with the Goat Loop race for the younger kids under starting at 10:00am (1 and 2 lap races will begin at the same time) -- bring the little ones out for the fun and they’ll all win a free creemee! Older kids can choose to race 2 laps on the Goat Loop, or try the new Junior Loop (2 miles) which starts at 10:10am. For everyone else, there’s the grand Tour de Farm Loop race, a 3+/- mile course, starting at 10:30am.
Racers can choose from the 3 categories:
Beginner 2-3 laps
Sport 4 laps
Expert 5 laps
There will be prize money for top finishers of the Tour de Farm Loop race. Registration is $10 for kids 12 and under, $25 for ages 13 and up, $20 for MAMBA members. Registration fee includes raffle prizes and lunch for all racers.
