The race course is 4.5 miles long and climbs 2,550 vertical feet on the famous unpaved Mt. Mansfield Toll Road to the near summit of the highest mountain in Vermont. Racers will experience a steady incline throughout the course with a 10 degree maximum pitch. Participants will be rewarded with one of the most spectacular views in the east overlooking three states and Quebec.
The first 300 participants will receive a tech shirt and a Catamount Trail Guidebook. Awards to the top 3 in each class for men, women, and discipline. Awards party following the race at the Matterhorn Restaurant with food and raffle to all competitors. Free admission to race participants and friends for live music at the Matterhorn Saturday evening. Enjoy a concert and fireworks in the meadow at the Trapp Family Lodge featuring the United States Air Force Liberty Pops Band on Sunday evening. This event is free of charge and open to the public.

Race To The Top of Vermont
Finally we have a race to challenge the real "King of the Hill" on the highest mountain in Vermont. This event will give competitors a chance to test their climbing skills in both running or mt biking and see who really is the fastest. It should be an exciting and fun event and a great way to guage your fitness level on the most challenging and scenic race course in Vermont.
Enjoy the long Labor Day Weekend by sticking around Sunday evening for the United States Air Force Liberty Pops Band in the meadow at the Trapp Family Lodge. This is free to the public and an event not to be missed.
