David Roberts: Climbing the Southeast Face of Mount Dickey Alaska
Feb 11, 2012 | 6:30 pmMcCarthy Recital Hall
One Winooski Park, Colchester
Celebrate 20 years of GMC’s James P Taylor outdoor Adventure Series. Mountaineer and author David Roberts will share the story of the hardest climb of this life—the southeast face of Mount Dickey, in the Central Alaskan Range in Denali National Park and Preserve. In 2004, Climbing Magazine saluted the 1974 ascent as “at the time the hardest alpine route in North America.” Join us for an exciting evening of slides and stories from the roof of North America. The event will be followed by a celebration with refreshments and a book signing of Robert’s book Finding Everett Ruess: The life and Unsolved Disappearance of a Legendary Wilderness Explorer. jwhitson@greenmountainclub.org
