EmberPhoto Slideshows Celebrate Human Powered Adventure

Moretown, VT – Over the next several weeks, Vermont based photographers and adventurers, Brian Mohr and Emily Johnson (Ember Photography), will continue to bring their annual slideshow series to several venues in Vermont.  The Series includes the latest incarnation of their ever-evolving show, “Off Piste in the Northeast”, which features an entertaining mix of photos, video and narration celebrating skiing adventure throughout the Northeast. Other shows will feature a bicycle-powered skiing adventure in the European Alps, and expeditions to Iceland and Norway.

“Skiers are pushing the boundaries of skiing adventure more than ever these days,” says Mohr. “Our shows celebrate what we have and treasure here in the Northeast, and beyond.”

The shows run approximately one hour and are followed by big raffle of outdoor gear – made possible by generous donations from a variety of local and national businesses, including Mad River Glen, Sugarbush, VT Brownie Co, The Skinny Pancake, Nutty Stephs, VT Artisan Tea and Coffee, Darn Tough, Backcountry Magazine, Mammut USA, and many others… Proceeds support the couple’s ongoing work with conservation organizations in Vermont and beyond, including the Vermont Natural Resources Council, the VT Land Trust and the Winter Wildlands Alliance. Mohr and Johnson co-own Ember Photography (www.EmberPhoto.com), publish www.AdventureSkier.com, and are regular contributors to Backcountry Magazine, the Patagonia Catalog, Vermont Life and many others. Much of their work focuses on the enjoyment and protection of wild lands in the northeast, the Arctic and in the southern Andes.

Mohr and Johnson’s Wild People, Wild Places project is an ongoing series of exhibits and slideshows designed to inspire the public to enjoy and protect the very places featured. Through their shows, Brian Mohr and Emily Johnson share stories and images from their backcountry skiing, paddling, backpacking and cycling adventures throughout the Northeast, the Arctic, the southern Andes, Europe and North America.  Mohr and Johnson photograph for a wide variety of editorial, fine art, wedding and commercial clients.  Their work is widely published.
