Woodstock, VT --The National Park Service Rivers & Trails Program announced that the Vermont Mountain Bike Association (VMBA) has been selected to receive technical assistance for its Vermont Mountain Bike Ride Center project.
Teams will race non-stop for 3 days through the mountains, rivers, and forests of Untamed New England. They must travel under their own power. Teams will navigate with map and compass through pine forests, wetlands, and mountains; paddle rivers fed by melting snow; bike staggering mountain passes and twisty trails; dangle from ropes on exposed cliff faces.
I knew I shouldn’t have blinked, but I did, and now it is fall, and I am befuddled at how summer streaked by like a proton in a large, functional particle collider. Before I blinked, we had finally settled into a pleasant weather pattern, everyone was excited about Michael Phelps, and Galveston was still standing.

50 mile Mt Bike -50 Mile Run - 50 Mile Relay Run - 50K Run
23 miles of trail - 25 mile of double track/dirt road - and almost no paved road.
Much of our trail passes over 70 private lands with some great Fall foliage vistas.
The Fellowship of the Wheel, Vermont’s largest mountain bike trail building group, and the Green Mountain Adventure Racing Association are teaming up to present the Wheel of Fire - MTB Adventure Race. The race will start at Sleepy Hollow in Huntington, VT on the afternoon of Sunday, October 12th.

These six poster people for community volunteerism have spearheaded the reclamation and development of Pine Hill Park, the largest woodland playground within a Vermont city’s limits.
D-Rex, our seasonal suspension guru at the bike shop, is always the first to say it, and he said it once again this year. We were all slogging our way through an especially long and hot day at the shop, watching the clock move backwards as we looked forward to a bike ride after work, and he blurted it out.
