If you plan to spend time in the backcountry you need to be prepared. Fast paced and hands-on, this two or three-day course covers a wide range of wilderness medicine topics for people who travel and work in the outdoors.
Join the staff of SOLO, nationally recognized leaders in the field of wilderness medicine and rescue, for a 80-hour intensive wilderness emergency care course. Learn skills needed to deal with emergencies in remote settings, with a focus on the extended care often required in wilderness medical emergencies. Practical simulations and lectures. Includes CPR.
This hands-on workshop covers the basics of winter first-aid for outdoor leaders and enthusiasts. Focus is on how to deal with cold-related problems for the patient in backcountry situations.

Backcountry Search & Rescue
This is a two-day (16 hours), introductory course in wilderness search procedures and techniques. Topics include: rescuer preparedness, search management, basic backcountry medicine, navigation, use of ropes and knots, and remote evacuation.
Cost: $215 (includes meals, lodging, and training materials); $175 day students.
